Typical Andalusian house with rustic decoration situated in the old town of Arcos de la Frontera, a town declared a historic/artistic monument in 1962. Arcos de la Frontera is a typical village of white houses and narrow streets, situated on the ridge of a hill near the river Guadalete. The old town of Arcos de la Frontera has a very special atmosphere! Local legend says that Arcos de la Frontera was founded around the time of the great biblical flood and was built originally by Noah's grandson. Even disregarding the legend, Arcos is a historic gem of a town, fascinating at all times. The house overlooks the lake of Arcos de la Frontera and the Sierra of Grazalema. Located 30 km from the airport of Jerez de la Frontera.

Local area

No matter what time of the year you travel to Arcos, you'll find some type of event. In winter it's carnival time, in spring there is the May Crosses, in summer there are numerous flamenco shows, and in Autumn the town fair takes center stage. In addition, Arcos is the perfect base from which to explore the towns of Jerez de la Frontera (25 minutes), Cadiz (40 minutes) and Seville (45 minutes). Other points of interest: Arcos Gardens Golf Course (5 minutes), golf course and racetrack of Montecastillo (15 minutes), nature parks of Grazalema and Los Arcornocales (30 minutes), Costa de la Luz (30 minutes) with some of the best beaches in Europe, Puerto de Santa Maria (45 minutes), Costa del Sol and Gibraltar (90 minutes). You can cycle or hike along a number of different routes: the route of the white villages, a wine route, the coastal route and the route of the bull. At the Lake of Arcos there are a variety of water activities possible. Near the town there are horseback riding possibilities.
