Local area

Those who go to the Costa Blanca, go of course for the beach, which you’ll find situated just two kilometers away. On the beach there is a restaurant and, during the high season, a lifeguard.

The surrounding environment contains numerous tropical fruit trees and many hiking trails. Two of them begin right in the village. The hinterland contains passable roads which meander through the mountains and from where you can enjoy spectacular views. Here you can find authentic Spanish restaurants with genuine tapas and local wines. At the house there are trails that are well maintained. The village has a tourist office and in the surrounding environment there are two golf courses.

Alicante: The castle of Santa Barbara with sculptures from the Capa collection. Free admission. You can reach the castle by lift. The historic part of the town begins at the foot of the castle. Worth seeing are: the old town, San Nicolás church and the Gothic church of Santa Maria. Stroll along the “Explanada de España” with its bright and colorful tiles. Step inside one of the traditional pubs. Alternatively take a boat trip to Isla de Tabarca (Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays). This island is a nature reserve and lies approx. 11 nautical miles off the coast of Alicante.

Altea: Impressive outing along the coastal road, through a narrow pass, the Mascarat Gorge, with constant views of the colorful coast of Altea. Not far away you can see the white houses built on the gently sloping hillside. Above the town you will see a church with a blue dome. From here you have a beautiful view of the surroundings. For culture lovers there are regular classical concerts held at the Arts Centre (Palau).

Benidorm: Take a trip to Benidorm in the evening, stroll through the beautiful old town and get a bite to eat at one of the tapas restaurants. Taste the local food and drink but do not forget to have a look at Miramar with its stunning views, situated in the heart of the old town next to the church. Daily and hourly boat trips to the island.

Cuevas de Canalobre: ??At Exit 67 on the A7 begins one of the best routes which leads to the village of Busot. Visit the caves on the west side of the Sierra. Via a long staircase carved into the rocks you can reach caves where you will find beautiful stalagmites and stalactites.

Denia: By "metre gauge train" or car you can reach Denia where you can visit a castle perched high up on a rocky crag overlooking the town. Within its walls you’ll find an archaeological museum which is open daily between 10:00 am and 1:00 pm and from 3:00 to 6:00 pm. The more adventurous can climb the "Montgo" massif and enjoy the breathtaking view from the top. Be sure to visit one of the many cafes situated along the promenade. From the building of "Acuario" (Las Marina 9) you can take trips with ATV's, canoes, kayaks and mountain bikes.

Elche: Visit the "Huerto del Cura" botanical garden with its very rare species of palms. Elche has about 100,000 palm trees but in the 13th century there were over 1 million! You can also take a 40-minute balloon ride (picnic included) on Saturday or Sunday which begins at 8:00 am and lasts until 11:00 am. Sign in at Aero Globo (in Spanish and English).
