Barbate is a municipality of about 22,000 inhabitants situated in a privileged location between the Atlantic Ocean, the Nature Park of La Brena and the marshes of Barbate, in Andalucia. It has been a fishing village since time immemorial, dedicated especially to the fishing of Bluefin tuna. The natural environment of Barbate is marked by an area of great ecological value, the Nature Park of La Brena and the marshes of the Barbate River which extend over 5077 hectares. The marshes are characterized as being of vital importance for the transit of migratory birds. With 25 km of coastline and an exceptional climate, Barbate is a paradise for sun and beach lovers. Local area
